"Who Goes There? with Lady Voltaire" is an experimental biweekly music revue that aims to expand sonic horizons, unravel convoluted cochlea and expose listeners to sounds new and old from around the corner and around the globe— from pulsing icelandic electropop to microtonal ghanian freak folk, ancient celtic hymns to modular synth soundscapes, avant-electronica to the über-mathematic postclassical compositions of Iannis Xenakis and every genre and microgenre betwixt. Lady Voltaire, an entity existing as an unseen amalgamation of protons, neutrinos, planetoid matter and quarks, descends from pure air every other Thursday and assumes various manifested shapes and forms so that she may comandeer the 90.7 FM wavelength to challenge your preconceived notions of what music is, what it has been, and where it can go, as well as providing her own strange occasional commentary, and even allots space and time for Wordship (poetry/lyric/script/novel/etc. excerpts) and not-entirely-un-sociopolitically-relevant-and-always-lexiconically-interesting vocabulary. Much like the Enlightenment's writer and philosopher, M. de Voltaire, our Lady Voltaire is on an ever urgent mission to stimulate the zeitgeist in hopes of aiding (in small part) the inching of human society towards progressive futures where liberation, freedom, love and happiness rule and where the long-tired and increasingly-destructive-on-every-concceivable-level forces of capitalism, imperialism, western hegemony, colonialism, fascism and white supremacy have absolutely no place and are cast out from the praxis of Man forever.
