The story of Roger Henneous, whose career as Senior Zookeeper spanned over 30 years, is one of humility and a love for animals. His devotion to the care of elephants is detailed in the book, Elephant Speak: A Devoted Keeper’s Life Among the Herd.
KBOO’s Daniel Conway spoke with author Melissa Crandall about this story, and the importance of the work of elephant keepers like Henneous in zoos.
