Later this year, PICA and PNCA will host events involving writer Sarah Schuman. Information on the events is below. To warm up for what promises to be some very interesting conversation around Schulman's work and trhought, we are re-airing our conversation earlier this year on Schulman's book, 'Conflict is Not Abuse: Overstatring Harm, Community Responsibility, and the Duty of Repair.'

Red is founder and director of STROLL, the Sex Traders' Radical Outreach and Liberation Lobby, a grassroots harm reduction, outreach, education, and community organisation BY sex workers, FOR sex workers.A confused Boston transplant to the West Coast since her teens, Red grew up in Portland's strip clubs. she does the public health and rights focused zine Working It, works on her oral history of Portland’s clubs and sex worker activism in Portland. her writing can be found on Tits and Sass.
Kat Salas is a queer latinx sex worker, artist, and activist in Portland Oregon.

3:00 PM Panel: Local activists will be invited to discuss key ideas in Gentrification of the Mind and their relevance to present-day Portland’s queer communities, housing crises, and HIV/AIDS social justice movements.
4:30 PM Screening: A screening of the documentary UNITED IN ANGER: A History of Act Up, followed by a Q&A with Sarah Schulman (co-producer of the film) faciliated by Stephanie Snyder, Anne and John Hauberg Director & Curator, Douglas F.
