Portland Youth Philharmonic, America’s longest-running youth orchestra, is currently celebrating their historic 100th season. And they’ll be extending that run this Saturday, March 2nd at Portland’s Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
The program, titled “Serenade in the Wind”, includes Amy Beach’s “Gaelic Symphony”, Jessie Montgomery’s “Strum for String Orchestra”, and Jeff Scott’s “Paradise Valley Serenade” with special guests the Imani Winds. By the way, both Jessie and Jeff, won awards at the 2024 Grammy ceremonies just a few weeks ago.
We preview the concert with PYP’s Musical Director, David Hattner and Grammy-Award-winning composer Jeff Scott.
