The 2020 general election was historic on many levels. In terms of the criminal justice system, one of the most important measures on that ballot -- possibly one of the most important measures in more than two decades -- was Oregon's Ballot Measure 110, the Drug Addiction Treatment and Recovery Act.
On this edition of Prison Pipeline, we talk with one of M110's Chief Petitioners, Haven Wheelock. She's worked in harm reduction and direct service provision in Portland for many years. Haven has a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and is the syringe services coordinator for Outside In, a Portland area nonprofit. She took time recently to speak with Prison Pipeline Collective member Doug McVay about M110, the vote, and next steps for implementation of the measure.
