Monday, November 30th, marked the tenth anniversary of the “Battle of Seattle”, when tens of thousands of social justice advocates, rank and file labor, and environmentalists came together to shut down the World Trade Organization’s ministerial meetings in Seattle, Washington, and succeeded!
We’ll bring you inspiration from some of the organizers and activists who took to the streets of Seattle ten years ago, and later went on to form the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance.
Our guests tonight are Tammy Bang Luu from the Labor and Community Strategy Center, Ruben Solis of the Southwest Workers Union, and Colin Rajah with the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. We’ll also hear from Cindy Weisner, Political Coordinator for the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance.
