A comics artist's experience teaching workshops to refugees inspires a graphic memoir
Celebrate Words and Pictures' 15th anniversary on the air with a visit from Drawn to Berlin author Ali Fitgerald!
Drawn to Berlin follows Ali's encounters with Syrian youth, as she teaches comics workshops at a makeshift refugee center in Germany and hears personal stories about the civil war which has been tearing apart families and communities.
This conversation took place in the KBOO studios with host S.W. Conser during Ali's appearance at the 2018 Portland Book Festival.
