Women are in the news - and an amazing number have made, and are making, their mark in jazz.
Because there is no way this subject can be treated thoroughly in a 2-hour show, this will be a random sampler of outstanding such performances,
many of them seldom-or-never-heard by most of us.
They come from many countries and types of jazz, instrumental and vocal.
Included will be some participants in the upcoming Oregon Coast Jazz Party (formerly Jazz at Newport), curated by OCJP Music Director, and flutist, Holly Hofmann -
who will participate as well.
