When we recently had our phone-in show to solicit ideas for future shows, one caller wanted show of sounds of people making love. Unfortunately because of FCC rules on indency and obscenity, we wouldn't be able run that show before 10 pm... probably not after 10 pm either. What about the opposite of making love? The FCC doesn't mind sounds of people fighting (as long as there's no profanity). Sex is bad, but violence.. Why not just turn this request on it's head and have two hours of people committing voilence on each other?
Tonight on A Different Nature we bring you an uninterrupted two hours of THE SOUNDS OF VIOLENCE, as people use fists, guns, swords, bombs, clubs and other weapons to hurt, maim and kill each other. From one-on-one duels to all-out battle scenes, with source material taken from over 70 different movies dating from the 1940s to the present. There will be occasional snippets of dialog and background music, but the main focus will be on sounds of fighting and killing.
THE SOUNDS OF VIOLENCE is not meant to condone violence, but instead to comment on the peculiarities of the FCC rules of what can and can not be aired, as well as offer a response to an impossible listener request, and to provide a couple hours of radio that will be unlike anything else.
