there's just so much that has happened to us in these past few weeks, we haven't even been able to catch up. we went back to new york city (to find that it's not the same place we grew up), the membership drive happened (thank you so very much for contributing!!!), and we've been going through a major writing spurt, amongst other things.
and of course, there's been a lot of things going on in the world- most notable at this moment, margaret thatcher leaving this earth (with two VERY different responses between the states and britain); and this song, titled 'accidental racist' (with brad paisley and ll cool j). clearly, we have much to say on both issues, but we will stick with discussing the song primarily, due to what we feel is the continual revisionist philosophy when it comes to events in this country.
amongst all this (and of course, we would love to hear what you have to say!), we will present the music of the criminally underrated patti austin. ms. austin's name may be known around the world; however, we feel she is generally ignored when discussing some of the greatest vocalists of our time.
