This show, hosted by dan raphael, features Portland writers Joshua Gaines, Rich Perin and Brittany Baldwin.
Joshua Gaines is a former Air Force Captain who earned his Writing MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Joshua's work has been published in The Iowa Review, Electric Literature, The Pinch, and Driftwood Press. His novel, Long Autumn, and poetry book, Cigarette Sonatas, were published by Thoughtcrime Press. His newest book of narrative poetry, After the Floating Barn, was the winner of the 2025 North Dakota State University's Poetry of the Plains Prize, and published by NDSU Press.
Rich says that he comes from the other side of the world. Looks like he could be from anywhere. Survived 12 years in Texas, which he regards as a badge of honor. He is a PNW Noodling champion, with a record catch in the 2011 steelhead trout category. Unassuming mingler in higher social circles. Fighter for the blue collar. Willamette Week says of Rich Perin's poetry: “The sweet and burning language…rolls on the tongue like an Atomic Fireball.”
Brittany Baldwin lives on a quiet hill outside of Portland, Oregon. She's largely unpublished but has recently put together a small self-published collection she is reading from tonight called Quiet Life On The Hill. She's also part of the poetry gang The Worriers. :)
