Peter Flynn is a documentarian and professor of media studies whose films include The Dying of the Light, a profile of the last generation of career projectionists. His latest project, Film Is Dead. Long Live Film! dives into the world of amateur film collectors, whose love of analog cinema has often put them at odds with major movie studios and official archives.
We're also joined by archivist and documentarian Greg Hamilton, who is bringing Film Is Dead. Long Live Film! to Portland's Clinton Street Theater on March 17th, and is also screening Mardi Gras films by documentarian Les Blank on March 4th.
