Tonight's edition of Talking Earth features one and a half live sets of the jazz poetry outfit Notes and Motes, with Casey Bush on poetry, Michael Vlatkovich on trombone, Shao Way Wu on bass, and Chris Lee on percussion. Recorded live at Rose City Book Pub in February. The show ends with Casey reading a poem about late Talking Earth host Walt Curtis, and then host Patrick Bocarde allows Walt to have the last word. 

 

Casey Bush is a senior editor of The Bear Deluxe Magazine, the Northwest's leading environmental arts magazine. Long time Portland poet, Casey has performed his work at the Portland Poetry Festival, Seattle Poetry Festival, Powells, Crystal Ballroom, Artquake, Goatfest, Mt. Writers Series, as well as every open mic forum from the Long Goodbye, through the Riverway, Café Lena, Red & the Black Cafe, Blue Monk and Three Friends Coffee Shop.
