Portland's Rally for Egypt
Massive demonstrations continue in Cairo's Tahrir Square, while some banks and other businesses are beginning to reopen after two weeks of closures. Vice President Omar Suleiman held talks on Sunday with opposition leaders, including representatives from the Muslin Brotherhood.
President Mubarak announced today that he would raise all public sector salaries and pensions by fifteen percent in an unsuccessful effort to appease demonstrators. On Saturday, nearly two hundred people flooded Pioneer Square in downtown Portland to demand Hosni Mubarak's resignation and to show their support for the Egyptian people.
KBOO's Isobel Sharlay attended the rally.
