Please join me for Pastures of Plenty this week. The show begins at 5:30 Wednesday morning with a traditional American folk song - God’s Gonna Cut You Down (also known as "God Almighty's Gonna Cut You Down", "God's Gonna Cut 'Em Down", "Run On" and "Sermon"). There are two versions in this show, first from Odetta, then Johnny Cash, with - as you would think - decidedly different arrangements. An early Joan Baez recording of Phil Och’s There But For Fortune finishes the show. In between you’ll hear a wide range of folk music, from Dock Boggs, Terry Family, Della Mae, Robbie Fulks, Sarah Jarosz, Doc Watson, and many other fine musicians.
You can hear folk music on KBOO every Monday through Friday morning from 5:30 till 7:00, followed by news (Democracy Now), and Fridays after the noon news.
Thanks for listening to KBOO.
