The coronavirus pandemic has in many ways, laid bare the fundamental flaws with the American healthcare system. The prohibitive cost of care, pharmaceuticals and insurance are a few that come to mind. And while the shortcomings of the American system have taken their toll, it could be changed to better serve people and keep them healthy, ultimately for a much lower cost.

KBOO's Josh Salem spoke with progressive radio host and author Thom Hartmann about his new book "The Hidden History of American Healthcare" to learn more about how greed, racism, and oligarchic corruption lead to the current “sickness for profit” system.
