Our show tackles local, national and international issues through in depth interviews, and on this episode we’ll be taking a look back at some of our coverage of democratic struggles most closely tied to our community in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

The coronavirus pandemic has upended every aspect of our daily lives, and democratic efforts for change are no different.

That doesn’t mean there weren’t major successes at the polls and in the streets, even with the challenges presented by the pandemic, like restrictions on gathering and other common avenues of democratic organizing.

Democracy is an ongoing struggle, to ensure that the rights and freedoms of all people are protected and respected.

Today is a day we strive to remember that responsibility, and the important changes that have been brought through these processes.

We look back at the November 2020 drug decriminalization measure, the success of the police oversight measure in Portland and the school bond, plus the statewide push for campaign finance reform, and what the history of the Supreme Court tells us about where it's headed today.
