On this episode of the Gap, Tammy and Althea discuss the recent April 2021 jobs report, which showed far fewer new jobs gained last month than economists predicted. What does this mean? Well, it isn't that Americans are suddenly overwhelmingly lazy, and living high on the hog from their unemployment benefits. There's still a lot of challenges to getting back to work, especially for women (think childcare and in-home learning). Plus, unemployment benefits means that people don't have to go back to starvation wages in unstable industries of the past year, like retail and hospitality.

Then, we ask our listeners, what does stability mean to you after over a year of a global pandemic? How have our priorities shifted, and how can we guide our future?
