This past October the Columbia River Gorge Commission adopted much needed revisions to the Management Plan for the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, which had not been updated since 1991. These plan revisions address for the first time critical issues like climate change, more stringent protections for salmon and wetlands, and the development of an equity plan that recognizes the history of systemic racism in the region.

On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Michael Lang, conservation director for Friends of the Gorge, about why this new management plan is so significant.
