If you’re an older adult who has experienced financial or logistical barriers to getting fresh fruit and vegetables,  the Hollywood Senior Center might have some exciting opportunities for you.  Tomorrow, the Center is co-hosting the launch of a project to reduce food insecurity among older adults in the Metro area.  You can be paired with a volunteer at the Farmers Market to help you navigate discount and incentive programs  such as SNAP  (formerly food stamps) and Farm Direct coupons, or you can sign up for someone to shop for you if you’re able to attend ... or you can take part in the free food box program.  Call the Center for more information at 503-288-8303.

The Rural Organizing Project is a statewide organization of locally-based groups working to create communities accountable to a standard of human dignity: the belief in the equal worth of all people, the need for equal access to justice, and the right to self-determination. And it needs your help! ROP urgently needs a temporary database volunteer who can commit 2 to three hours a week for the next few months at their office in Scapoose. If you're interested, or looking for more information, contact Amanda AT rop DOT org.
