Please join us for Transpositive on Tuesday, June 30th at 6pm on KBOO. How is gender identity learned, is it a social construction or a biological realtiy?  Given that today we live in a world where there is a hybrid of socially acceptable gender expression where do transgender women and cisgender women fall on the gender spectrum?  What aspects of socialization have cisgender women internalized as part of their social narrative and how does that compare to the narratives Transgender women tell themselves about identity?

We will join KBOO supporter Janet Unruh this week in part one of a series of conversations this summer between different categories of gender identity.  We will be sharing in conversations between transgender women and cisgender women, transgender women and cisgender men, trans men and trans women and nonbinary folks about how gender identity is constructed, how we internalize gender and how we express our expectations of gender in terms of narrative and external expression.

Transpositive is a biweekly program in Portland exploring themes important to those who identify as Transgender, Gender Non Binary and Gender Non-Conforming. Transpositive tries to connect listeners with the ongoing activist, arts, culture, and dialogue happening in Portland and beyond.Make your voice heard!Transpositive PDX is open to new and experienced programmers, guests and events you want our community to know about.
