During the presidential campaign of 2008, Weather Underground co-founder and Distinguished Professor of Education Bill Ayers teamed up with cartoonist Ryan Alexander-Tanner to adapt Bill's groundbreaking education textbook into comics form. The result is To Teach: The Journey, in Comics.
Host S.W. Conser sat down with Bill and Ryan to talk about their artistic collaboration; their adventures on the streets of Chicago avoiding Fox News cameras; Bill's work with then-senator Barack Obama and Chicago mayor Richie Daley to reimagine education policy; and Ryan's transformation of Bill's infamous mug shot into a cartoon icon.
