The 20th Annual Cascade Festival of African Films launches this e v ening and will continue Thursdays through Sundays until March 6. Tonight at the Hollywood Theater, you can catch a screening of the award-winning Ethiopian film Teza and a reception with its director. That's at 7 pm at 4122 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland. Another don't-miss installment of this series is the Malawian documentary Water First, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 PM at Portland Community College's Cascade Campus, located at 705 N Killingsworth St in Portland.

Also tomorrow morning, the Audobon Society of Portland invites you to Sauvie Island for Raptor Road Trip 2010!

As a part of this fall’s 2010 Time-Based Art Festival, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art will present The People's Bienniale. Curators are seeking recommendations from the public about the most interesting work being made right here and right now, specifically by artists and non-artists operating outside of traditional presenting institutions and systems.
