The Thai Elephant Orchestra

Give six elephants drumsticks, gongs, giant wooden marimbas, bells, and even elephant-sized harmonicas (and a theremin!), and they will play, learn, compose, and teach.

Tonight, selections from the Thai Elephant Orchestra (part of the Thai Elephant Conservation Center).  Music by humans will include a series of microtonal ragas by John Cage, Chinese harp by Bright Sheng, electronic sounds by Ed Herrmann, and more.
