The Trump administration has declared a war on science. The first thing they did upon taking office was erase all references and data about climate change from government websites, and impose gag orders on scientists working for the EPA and Department of Energy. Then Trump revealed his proposed budget which features huge cuts aimed at science research programs at the DOE, NIH, NOAA, and EPA, that would devastate innovation on critical issues like health and energy research and especially impact the most vulnerable populations in this country.
But scientists are not taking this lying down. On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd scientists and Americans who value the vital importance of scientific principles and research, will take to the streets in cities across the country, to rally against Trump's war on science.
The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated scienceas a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest.
