The focus of the hearings was a proposed policy on the use of deadly force by the Portland police department. Although the topic is one that usually raises heated debate among Portlanders, almost no one attended the hearings.According to Dan Handelman of Portland Copwatch, the reason for the low attendance was that the District Attorney's office gave very little public notice of the hearings:That was Dan Handelman of Portland Copwatch, talking about the Hearings held last weeks by the Multnomah County District Attorney's office on the use of deadly force by the Portland Police Department. KBOO Radio got notice of the hearing just hours before it was supposed to take place. Some Media Outlets got no notice at all.
