A UCLA professor detained in the Philippines has been released, largely due to an international media campaign exposing her detention.
Professor Annalisa Enrile (en-REE-lay) is a U.S. Citizen who was in the Philippines to speak at a conference when she was detained by Filipino authorities and prevented from returning home on August 5th.
For the last ten days, Enrile’s friends and family have organized a campaign of phone calls, letters and media exposure to demand her release.  Last night Professor Enrile was released from the Philippines and allowed to return home to California.
