Stories of Survival & Struggle
Adam Carpinelli will interview Becca Echeverria. Echeverria is an activist based in Washington state and volunteers to the AVID Program in a local high school and works with youth currently incarcerated at Green Hill School (Prison). She will discuss her contribution to the recently published book Dear Sister which is a collection of over 40 women's stories, letters and essays. The pieces are all centered from a survivors perspective and writing to fellow survivors. Echeverria will be speaking at In Other Words Feminist Community center with another contributor Mary Zelinka to raise awareness about sexual assault on women as well as fundraise in order to send copies of Dear Sister into women’s prisons.
