Supporting Prisoner Strikes

We'll hear a workshop from the Law & Disorder Conference held in Portland in May 2014. The workshop, Supporting Prisoner Strikes, from Palestine to Pelican Bay, was facilitated by Bo Brown, Prison Activist Resource Center; and Ed Mead, publisher, Rock Newsletter. They discuss the ins and outs of supporting prisoners on hunger and work strikes. PARC is a prison abolitionist group based in Oakland, California. The Rock newsletter came about as a result of the July 2011 hunger strike by California prisoners and has been supportive of prisoner efforts to empower themselves.
