In another life, I write historical fiction novels.  When I was writing my new novel What We Say in the Dark and trying to come up with a name for the main character, Don Gibson popped into my head. Don was a singer-songwriter popular in the 50’s and 60’s nicknamed “The Sad Poet.” He was part of “The Nashville Sound” eschewing the rougher edges of honky-tonk (fiddles, steel guitar) for a smooth tempo that favored crooning lead vocals and back-up singers. He wrote such classics as I Can’t Stop Loving You, and Sweet Dreams. Tune in for Don Gibson, the all-vinyl edition. Additionally, Mary Cameron will be joining me, so the fun factor will be doubled.
