Why is it legal to pitch a tent for leisure but not for survival on the city streets of Portland.  R2S reporters Ibrahim Mubarak and Jac Brown investigate.

Homeless and Formerly Homeless Portlanders to Set up Camp Along the Rose Parade Route
 
  “The city allows people to pitch up tents for pleasure, but they won't allow people to pitch a tent to survive.  This is wrong.” said Leo Rhodes.  "Homeless people are just doing human things, like sleeping, getting out of the rain, and resting."
                                                                                                                                            
WHAT:  Pitch A Tent for the Right to Survive, a public campout designed to raise awareness about the criminalization of homelessness in Portland and across the nation, and the creative solutions that can be implemented immediately to address this human rights crisis. 
 
WHO:  Right 2 Survive, homeless and formerly homeless community members, and supporters.  A delegation from Nickelsville in Seattle is expected.
