Caregiving is challenging and demanding in the best of circumstances, add in the complexities of dealing with hostile stepchildren and the situation becomes much more difficult. In this episode we meet Kay, who has been caring for her husband John since he was diagnosed with dementia in 2018. Two of John’s children from a previous marriage have not been supportive of Kay’s efforts to say the least, and their behavior has been a significant source of stress for her. Kay has learned how to manage this issue with help from friends and the ongoing support of a local hospice service.
