Transitioning within the context of a relationship can be a source of joy and discovery in a relationship and it offers some unique challenges for couples. We will talk with Frank and Brenton as well as Claire and Isla about their lives in transition as couples and will be joined by relationship counselor Shannon Batts.
Shannon Batts, MS, LMFT (CA) and LPC (OR), of relationshipgardening.com provides videomeeting support for OR or CA transgender transitions in marriage through Spouses' Group (a weekly support group for cisgender spouses supportive of their coming out partners), Couples' Groups (for the Spouses' Group and their partners), and gender affirming medical referral letters by donation. Shannon is a marriage specialist trained in Gottman methods that bring well researched understandings and tools to relationship building and repair. She is with us bringing relationship success inspiring couples to the airwaves.
