EarthJustice's Sara Saylor: Murkowski attacks the Clean Air Act & Kevin Neish experiences Israel

Yesterday the Senate voted on Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski’s Resolution of Disapproval   which would stop the Environmental Protection Agency’s plans to regulate greenhouse gases starting next year.  Oregon is one of the states that sued the EPA for not being tough enough  on tailpipe emissions standards.   Murkowski’s pro-energy amendment went down in flames, but the money and power that prompted it are still kicking.  How would the Kerry Lieberman bill compromise the rights of individual states to set their own environmental standards?   Sara Saylor with EarthJustice says Murkowski’s ill-timed adventure in the politics of oil isn’t surprising – what is surprising was the timing:  the same day the oil spill numbers were revised upward…way upward.   It makes a thoughtful person wonder whether Israel will still be so dear to America when all the Middle East oil is gone…or otherwise tied up in Chinese contracts…

Canadian human rights activist, Kevin Neish is back with second half of is Mavi Marmora ordeal:  in the aftermath of the Israeli attack.
