Israeli commandos vs. humanitarian activists & in the Gulf, 'Top Kill' dies, the Dead Zone lives...

How are we to come to terms with  the Israeli attack on the civilian activists on board the Freedom Flotilla's ship, the  Marmora.  The Israeli government doesn't even trouble itself to tell a good lie;  anything thing will do because the world hears nothing beyond the latent charges of "anti-semitism" leveled against any who dare question Israel's campaign of state-sponsored terrorism..  Here in Oregon not a word from our newspaper of record, from the Governor, from elected officials.  Silence shot through with shame.  There was an impromtu demonstration in Pioneer Courthouse Square last night.  It is only reasonable to expect representatives of local synagogues to show up full force to tell Israel, 'Not In Our Name'.  It is reasonable but not realistic.  As far as PR is concerned, the attack was a disaster.  As far as international law is concerned it was an act of piracy and as far as human rights are concerned, it was an assassination mission.  That's right.  One of the commandos who participated  dropped the official list of targets lying on the deck - along with the targets themselves.  And all the while beneath the radar, nuclear-armed ships are standing off Iranian shores.  One third of the Israeli Navy arrayed against a ship bearing humanitarian aid to the besieged Gazan population is really one link in the long and blood-stained chain that binds US foreign policy to Zionism.
