The KBOO News & Public Affairs special: Air Cascadia & environmental Justice

 

Here in Portland we think of ourselves as Green.  But how green are we?  And who is greener than whom?  It comes down to the hard question:  How much Green can you afford?  My guests this morning join us from across Cascadia and deep into Southwestern parts of the country.    Joseph Santos-Lyons, Co-Director of the seminal group, Organizing People-Activating Leadership based in Portland;  Josh Vincent with the Oregon Toxics Alliance, George Luhan with the SW Organizing Project and Adoni Morales, Immigrant Rights Activist in Albuquerque, New Mexico bring a variety of perspectives on the impact of environmental crime on the underprivileged, the disenfranchised, the working poor – who often are employed by the same industries that are killing them.  Environmental justice is really justice for all – because habitat is interconnected.  It’s complex…but it isn’t complicated…
