Please join us for Transpositive on Tuesday, September 15th at 6pm on KBOO for an interview with Amir Shirazi, artistic director of Transpose PDX. Transpose is a gender-affirming, non-auditioned community choir that seeks to empowers its members by creating a brave space to expand musical skills, develop a sense of identity, and center their voices in song.

From their Transpose PDX Vision statement, "We are the ripple-starters, the ambassadors of change, and the consciousness-raisers. We humanize trans folks through the most human of art forms — singing! Through rural outreach performances we become visible; may the people who encounter us no longer feel alone, gain the courage to be their authentic selves, and be inspired to start their own ripples."

We will talk with Amir about Transpose PDX's currently ongoing open auditions, rehearsal during a time of social distancing, supporting singers during and through transition and other issues which are unique to a gender affirming choir.
