A half million people half the world away flee their homes because of armed fighting and an Oregon based aid group has started helping families in need.
The United Nations estimates at least 500,000 have had to suddenly move in Pakistan.
Mercy Corps is handing out emergency kits this week, and Portland-based personnel are arriving in Pakistan to assess the continued emergency response.
