While President Obama called for sweeping new regulations on the financial sector today, he continues to move forward with free trade agreements begun under the Bush administration.
One of the trade agreements currently in process being considered by the US Congress is the US-Colombia Free Trade Agreement, although Obama retains ‘fast track’ power to push the trade agreement through at his will.
Larry Burns, the head of the Council on Hemispheric Affairs, told KBOO that he sees very little change between Bush and Obama in regards to Colombia and free trade agreements.
