Marjane Satrapi is the artist and writer behind such graphic memoirs as Persepolis, Embroideries, and Chicken with Plums, and is the co-director of the animated feature film version of Persepolis.  She grew up in Tehran during the revolution that toppled the Shah and led to the Islamic Republic of Iran, later leaving for France where she now lives and works.

Originally airing on January 25, 2008, this archival episode of Words and Pictures was recorded at the studios of KBOO Community Radio with host S.W. Conser.
