Farmworkers excluded from stimulus benefits; guestworkers may be left without as well

Donald Trump and his political allies have excluded over a million farmworkers in the U.S. from receiving any benefits under the recent CARES Act. These farmworkers live and work in conditions where the spread of the virus is an immediate danger.

Now, Trump’s Secretary of Agriculture is trying to breathe new life into an old proposal to abandon the guaranteed wage received by hundreds of thousands of guestworkers in the H-2A visa program.
