The US Congress recently decided to triple the amount of money designated for the ‘cash for clunkers’ program.
The Program is supposed to reduce carbon emissions by getting old cars off the road.
But critics have challenged the increased spending on a program which they claim may not actually reduce emissions at all.
KBOO’s Crystal Leighty spoke with Lena Pons with Public Citizen, a consumer watchdog group in Washington DC:
