Yesterday, two groundbreaking black fighter pilots who flew in World War Two spoke at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus.
The two pilots were members of the famous Tuskegee [tus-KEE-gee] Airmen, the first African Americans to fly fighter planes in combat.
Lieutenant Colonels Alexander Jefferson and William Holloman [HOL-low-man] shared a little bit of history with the crowd of students and educators.
KBOO’s Maggie Starr attended their talk, and has some of their story. It begins early in World War Two.
