Patricia Welch talks to the Vancouver NAACP about this their 2019 Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. We need your sponsorship to make Juneteenth 2019 the most successful one yet. The celebration will be held on June 22, 2019 at Clark College from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. This year’s theme is “Together We Rise”. This theme addresses the idea that together we rise above the fray of hatred, despair, and discord. We join unified to work towards cooperative economics and purpose for our race, community, and nation.
