Pura Vida! You hear this phrase a lot in Costa Rica, but what does it mean? A literal translation is pure life, but the actual meaning of the phrase is a good deal more subtle and complex. Costa Ricans are some of the happiest people I have ever met, and even though they may not have the level of material affluence that we enjoy here in the United States, they have everything they need to live a rich, rewarding and enjoyable life. Join me as I explore just what I've learned from local folks in a small Central American country about Pura Vida.
