Building a shared solidarity in the labor movement.

Join hosts Tina Turner-Morfitt and Dr. Audrey Terrell in a follow-up discussion with Sister  April Sims, the newly elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Washington State Labor Council. The Washington State Labor Council is comprised of more than 600 union locals and councils representing approximately 450,000 rank-and-file union members throughout the State of Washington. Our October 2018 Coaliiton of  Black Trade Unionists Labor Radio show featured Sister Sims as she introduced a 7 hour workshop on Race and Labor and an ambitious plan to certify union affiliates within the Washington State Labor Council with the newly developed workshop.  Tonight, Sister Sims will provide an update of the 7 hour workshop on Race and Labor. Additionally we will discuss the urgency of now in building a shared solidarity with white counterparts. We will highlight the importance of women and Black union members within organized labor, in preparation of the 2020 general election.
