My work is my own personal map towards understanding the inner and outer worlds that we as humans inhabit, and I create it with inspiration from scientific exploration and cartography. I draw upon colors and celestial atmospheres depicted in satellite images from the Hubble Space Telescope, the International Space Station, NASA and the National Geologic Survey. I interweave my materials with ideas and images inspired by aerial photography, geology, and astronomy. From our changing environment to the frontiers of scientific discovery, to the weather patterns, clouds and majestic landscapes of my Oregon home, my work is an expression of finding the beauty in our contemporary world.
