Lisa Loving and Suzanne LaGrande interview Bruce Livingston, Executive Director of PlayWrite, Coach/actor Victor Mack and playwright Jaclyn, from Mt. Scott LC High School. PlayWrite brings professional coaches and actors together with youth to write and direct their own character-driven plays. Focusing on youth at the edge—immigrants & refugees, farm-worker’s children, LGBTQ, homeless, PlayWrite offers workshops where participants use the emotional tools of drama to trust themselves, manage their trauma, and heal. Each workshop participant works one-on-one with their own dedicated coach, trained by PlayWrite to create a play with emotional conflict, awareness and empathy.
