Re-traumatization of Women in Prison

Host Isabelle Sinclair speaks with Jackie Whitt, a formerly incarcerated person, about her experiences within Coffee Creek Correctional Facility, Oregon's only prison for women. Jackie, who comes from a background of intergenerational incarceration, speaks about the retraumatization that occurs within our current justice system. Why is it that a system that is meant to help others instead begins to mimic the very relationship structure many of those currently incarcerated have come from? How does this systemic imbalance of power and control affect the lives of those trapped within it?
