Welcome to the August edition of The Holy Crowley Hour. In keeping with our Portland summer weather, it’s sure to be hot, smoky, and unhealthy for people with lung disease or discriminating tastes.
For those who don’t fall into either category, join us as we pay tribute to the late, lamentable Ubu Hour, which aired on KBOO the first Monday of the month, from 11pm to midnight. A very long, productive, and successful run, ending earlier this year due to circumstances as yet to be determined. But we’re not here to bury the Ubu Hour. We’re here to praise it. And, play a few radio theater pieces from the show’s voluminous drawers. To help us do that, we have the Ubu Hour’s creator and mastermind, Rolf Semprebon, and one of its funniest contributors, M. Watson Dodge.
All that before the clock strikes midnight, and Joe Woods takes us to Far-Away Places, where the air quality index is always low, and the climate is always temperate.
